Volleyball Game Preview: Victory Christian Academy Knights vs. The Cambridge School Griffins

Victory Christian Academy is 0-3 against The Cambridge School since May of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Victory Christian Academy earned a 3-1 win over Liberty Charter. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Victory Christian Academy walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-16, 19-25, 25-18.

Victory Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Esteban Torres, who had six digs and five aces. Torres is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 12 games he's played. Austin Dill was another key player, getting 19 kills, four digs, three aces, and two blocks.

Torres wasn't the only good server: Victory Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in nine consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, The Cambridge School was able to grind out a solid victory over Helix back in March, taking the game 2-0.

Victory Christian Academy's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-5. As for The Cambridge School, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Victory Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from The Cambridge School when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
