Basketball Recap: Knox Westenskow's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Intermountain Christian over Vanguard Academy

Intermountain Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 61-47 bruising from the Vanguard Academy Valiant.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Knox Westenskow, who went 7 of 17 en route to 17 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Hillaker, who posted 18 points and seven rebounds.

Intermountain Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Intermountain Christian and Mount Vernon will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Intermountain Christian is facing Mount Vernon at the right time seeing as Mount Vernon is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Vanguard Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Freedom Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
