Basketball Game Preview: Sebastian River Sharks vs. Master's Academy Patriots

The Sebastian River Sharks will square off against the Master's Academy Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Sebastian River is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Treasure Coast just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 54-36 bruising from the Titans. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while the Titans are ranked 114th).

Meanwhile, Master's Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost to Jupiter Christian at home by a 76-61 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (55), the Patriots still had to take the loss.

Sebastian River will need focus on slowing down Dawson Bennett, one of several Master's Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He went 8 for 14 on his way to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayshawn Troutman, who went 6 of 10 en route to 13 points along with seven assists and five boards.

Sebastian River's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for Master's Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Sebastian River strolled past Master's Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2018 by a score of 63-48. Does Sebastian River have another victory up their sleeve, or will Master's Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
