Softball Recap: Wetumpka Indians vs. Carbon Hill Bulldogs
Wetumpka stacked a 16th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Carbon Hill Bulldogs with a sharp 7-1 victory. The win was familiar territory for Wetumpka who now have four in a row.
Ella Watson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (she also only allowed one walk). Watson was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Alyssa Brown was excellent, going 2-for-2 with two RBI and a double. Another player making a difference was Mari Beth Parette, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Wetumpka pushed their record up to 28-3 with that victory, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Carbon Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.
