Softball Recap: Groveton Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Groveton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Leon, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Groveton Indians never let the Leon Cougars get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Friday. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by seven runs or more this season.

Groveton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. Leon is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Groveton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-4 draw against Mineola on the 28th. As for Leon, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cougars face off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Latexo's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Leon's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
