DuPont Manual fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Ryle on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 6-5. The Crimsons' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Bailey Fetcher was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two RBI. Bella Newell also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

DuPont Manual's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Ryle, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1-1.

Coming up, DuPont Manual will welcome Fairdale at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Crimsons are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Ryle, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 15-4 victory against Beechwood on the 12th.
