Basketball Recap: Merritt Island Christian's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Merritt Island Christian extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Summer Snaith. The Merritt Island Christian Cougars secured a 41-37 W over the Rockledge Raiders on Monday thanks in part to Snaith, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds. Her evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Rockledge lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Shaniya Jones, who posted seven points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Ausha Daniels also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Merritt Island Christian pushed their record up to 6-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Rockledge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
