Softball Recap: Rio Rancho Comes Up Short

Rio Rancho had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 8-2 to the Westlake Warriors on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rams have suffered since March 22, 2024.

The victory was the third in a row for Westlake, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rio Rancho will face off against Albuquerque at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Albuquerque is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14.2 runs per game this season. Westlake will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rio Mesa at 3:30 p.m. on March 17th.
