Recap: North Surry Greyhounds vs. Mount Airy Granite Bears
The North Surry Greyhounds had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They took down Mount Airy 44-26. 44 seems to be a good number for North Surry as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
It was another big night for Sadie Badgett, who scored 16 points along with six assists and six rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Niston, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
North Surry's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Mount Airy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.
North Surry will head out on the road to face off against Surry Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Surry Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. As for Mount Airy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Elkin at 6:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Mount Airy is ranked 400th, while Elkin is ranked 390th).
