Basketball Recap: Kingstree Takes a Loss

Kingstree was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 48-38 to the East Clarendon Wolverines. The Blazers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolverines earlier this season, when they won 58-55.

When it comes to explaining why Kingstree lost, don't look at Mal'Aki Matthews. Despite the final result, he posted 13 points and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Joh'Metrius Chandler, who scored six points.

Kingstree's record is now 5-17. As for East Clarendon, the win snapped their losing streak at ten games and leaves them with a 6-14 record.

Kingstree and East Clarendon could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. Kingstree will take on Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday down 156 places (255 vs. 99). Similarly, East Clarendon (ranked 241st) will meet Mullins (ranked 48th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
