Basketball Game Preview: Camden Bulldogs vs. Lugoff-Elgin Demons

The Camden Bulldogs and the Lugoff-Elgin Demons will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Camden took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Fairfield Central by a score of 51-41.

Meanwhile, Lugoff-Elgin waltzed into their game on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 56-38 win over the Gators. While the Demons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Lugoff-Elgin's win came from a few key players Camden will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Savon Jenkins, who went 6 of 12 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Clark, who posted nine points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

Lugoff-Elgin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

Lugoff-Elgin pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Camden, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Things could have been worse for Camden, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-51 loss to Lugoff-Elgin in their previous meeting on Friday.
