Softball Preview: Willis Wildkats vs. College Park Cavaliers

The Willis Wildkats will be playing in front of their home fans against the College Park Cavaliers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Willis scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Cleveland 16-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Willis.

Kynlei Chapman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Chapman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Chapman was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Rylee Gage was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Sprayberry, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, College Park entered their tilt with Caney Creek with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over the Panthers.

Willis' victory bumped their record up to 13-16. As for College Park, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-11-1.
