Providence Academy proved they can win big on Monday (they won by eight) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Greenland Pirates. The win was familiar territory for the Patriots, who have now won four contests in a row.

Camden Griggs made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (two). She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ellie Keen, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Briley Woolbridge was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Providence Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Providence Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Greenland, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-3 record.

After both having extra time off, Providence Academy and Union Christian Academy will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 4:30 p.m. on April 1st. Union Christian Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.56 runs per game on average), something Providence Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of. Greenland will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Elkins at 4:30 p.m. on March 31st.
