Williamsburg (Ohio) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat Fayetteville-Perry (Fayetteville, Ohio), 41-6, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a two-point conversion in the first quarter, the Wildcats led 22-0 at the half.
Williamsburg expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. WHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Lane Edmisten.
Fayetteville-Perry's only touchdown came on a 35-yard run in the third quarter.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Wildcats came away with a 56-7 victory.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Williamsburg, which was coming off a 28-14 defeat at the hands of Paint Valley in its previous game. The defeat comes as a step back for Fayetteville-Perry, who notched a 26-14 victory over Bethel-Tate in its previous outing. The victory snapped Williamsburg's two-game losing streak. The loss ended Fayetteville-Perry's two-game winning streak.
Fayetteville-Perry (2-1) will play a non-conference game against Miami Valley Christian Academy next week, while Williamsburg (1-2) will take on Fairfield Christian Academy also in a non-conference game.
