Baseball Recap: Nazareth Area's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

While Nazareth Area's win against Allentown Central Catholic wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blue Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Vikings on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Eagles have posted against the Vikings since May 10, 2018.

Ryan Petruska was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. Matt Daems was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Nazareth Area, bringing their record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Allentown Central Catholic, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

The Blue Eagles are facing the Konkrete Kids at the right time seeing as the Konkrete Kids are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Allentown Central Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pocono Mountain West at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
