Softball Recap: Sequatchie County Comes Up Short

Marion County hit Sequatchie County with a six-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians lost 12-6 to the Warriors. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Indians, who until this matchup were averaging 3.83 runs allowed.

Grace Kelly was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Hannah Milligan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Sequatchie County's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 21-9. As for Marion County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-7.

Looking ahead, Sequatchie County will face off against Bledsoe County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Marion County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
