Softball Recap: Eaton Reds vs. University Bulldogs
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Eaton had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the University Bulldogs , sneaking past 8-6. Winning may never get old, but the Reds sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
Emma Anderson was incredible, going 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Kiauna Smith was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Eaton lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive matches.
Eaton is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 26-3 record this season. As for University, they moved to 21-8 with that loss, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.
