Softball Recap: Claremont Takes a Loss

Claremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop Amat Lancers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolfpack of the 8-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2020.

Daneli Becerra was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Claremont's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Bishop Amat, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Claremont will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Ayala at 3:30 p.m. on the 15th. As for Bishop Amat, they will take on Paraclete at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Spirits' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Lancers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
