Volleyball Recap: Tomahawk Hatchets vs. Oconto Blue Devils

Tomahawk and Oconto squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Tomahawk had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Oconto Blue Devils by a score of 3-2. While the Hatchets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Blue Devils 25-21 in the first set.

Tomahawk took Oconto into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 25-15, 21-25, 15-13.

Even though they lost, Tomahawk was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in four consecutive games.

Kyanne Wusterbarth had an outrageously good game for Oconto as she had 49 digs and three aces. Wusterbarth is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in the last seven games she's played.

With the defeat, Tomahawk broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-19. As for Oconto, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-12.
