Football Game Preview: Phillips Loggers vs. Hurley Northstars + How To Watch

The Phillips Loggers will venture away from home to square off against the Hurley Northstars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Phillips has given up an average of 38 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Phillips is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wisconsin's top teams: Athens, who was ranked 16th at the time (Phillips was ranked 18th). The Loggers snuck past the Bluejays with a 52-48 win on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Loggers considering their eight-point performance the matchup before.

Meanwhile, Hurley got the win against Chequamegon/Butternut/Mercer on Friday by a conclusive 34-14. Considering the Northstars have won three games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Hurley and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.0 points over those games. As for Phillips, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Phillips strolled past Hurley when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 48-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Loggers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
