Basketball Game Preview: Eagleville Eagles vs. Huntland Hornets

Eagleville is 2-8 against Huntland since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Eagleville Eagles will head out to take on the Huntland Hornets at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Eagleville is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were dealt a 68-31 loss at the hands of Richland. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while the Raiders are ranked 26th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to 57 points the game before, Huntland was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They came up short against Forrest, falling 42-22. The game marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Huntland now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Eagleville, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Eagleville couldn't quite finish off Huntland in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 and fell 53-51. Can Eagleville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
