Baseball Recap: Mahanoy Area Has No Trouble Against Weatherly

Mahanoy Area's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Weatherly. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Bears in their matchups with Weatherly: they've now won four in a row.

Owen Ogrodnick was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Mike Oblas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Mahanoy Area's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-7. As for Weatherly, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mahanoy Area will challenge Minersville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Weatherly, they will square off against Lincoln Leadership Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
