Softball Game Preview: Hamilton Huskies vs. Williams Field Black Hawks

The Hamilton Huskies will face off against the Williams Field Black Hawks at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Williams Field took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Hamilton, who comes in off a win.

While Huskies fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Monday's season opener. They blew past Mountain Ridge 15-7 on Monday. The Huskies not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11, 2024.

Hamilton got a great performance from Liliana Russo as she struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Amanda Benites, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amirah Lenon, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Hamilton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Ridge only posted an OBP of .333.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Williams Field was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They lost 16-2 to Chandler. The game marked the Black Hawks' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Ava Sisson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
