Broomfield proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Legacy Lightning, sneaking past 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since May 7, 2024.

Broomfield got a great performance from Ethan Zufall as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.

At the plate, Broomfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Wochner, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another was Sam Hostetter, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Broomfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Legacy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.

Looking ahead, Broomfield will venture away from home to square off against Skyline at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Legacy, they will host Holy Family at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Lightning surely won't give up without a fight.
