While Monday's win was certainly a team effort, someone pulling more than their own weight was underclassman Kierra Thacker. She showed up in a big way on Monday, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Thanks to that strong showing, she's now averaging 5.3 strikeouts per game.

Thacker and Union City will welcome Muncie Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Bearcats thanks in part to Thacker: she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk).
