Softball Recap: Winnfield's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

After a string of four wins, Winnfield's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They came up short against St. Mary, falling 16-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Winnfield has suffered since February 28th.

Kylee Higgs was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Claire Bartlett, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Winnfield's loss dropped their record down to 10-10-1. As for St. Mary, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Many will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Winnfield surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Mary, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakeview at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
