Softball Recap: Martin Tigers vs. Cigarroa Toros

Martin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 11-1 to the Cigarroa Toros. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Toros this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-0 back in February.

Martin saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jennifer Mosqueda, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Evelyn Maldonado also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Martin's loss dropped their record down to 0-23. As for Cigarroa, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-13.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Martin is set to challenge their familiar foe Rio Grande City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Cigarroa will square off against rival Roma at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
