Basketball Recap: Midview Middies vs. Avon Lake Shoremen
Midview lost against Avon Lake back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Middies took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shoremen. The Middies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Midview still got an impressive performance from Xavier Padilla, who posted 16 points. Padilla also grabbed a steal, marking his first of the season. Brennen Newton was another key player, putting up five points.
Liam Besaw had another great game (as he tends to do), earning 17 points for Avon Lake. Another player making a difference was Ezra Jones, who scored nine points.
Midview's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Avon Lake, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Coming up, Midview will venture away from home to square off against Berea-Midpark at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Avon Lake, they will be home for the holidays to greet Steele at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Shoremen will need to watch out since the Comets have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
