Softball Preview: Valley Park Hawks vs. Nerinx Hall Markers        
        
		
             The Valley Park Hawks have the luxury  of staying home for another  game and will welcome the Nerinx Hall Markers at 4:15  p.m.  on Monday. Nerinx Hall took a loss in their last  matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Valley Park, who comes in off a win.
 Last Friday, Valley Park made easy work of Ursuline Academy  and carried off  a  13-3 victory.
  Jaecie Bowen was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  tossed six innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   six  hits. Bowen was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Jenna Chitwood, who  went 3-for-4 with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Meghan Reinwald, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Valley Park was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .455. That's a new  trend for them: their average  batting average was 0% earlier this season, but in their last five matches they've averaged 36.3%.
 Meanwhile, Nerinx Hall was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight  loss  dating back to last season. They lost  9-0 to Notre Dame.
 Valley Park's win bumped their record up to 3-7-1. As for Nerinx Hall, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.
 Valley Park skirted past Nerinx Hall  2-1 in their previous matchup  back in September of 2023. Will Valley Park repeat their success,  or does  Nerinx Hall have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
