Basketball Game Preview: Northside Eagles vs. Coffee Trojans

The Northside Eagles will square off against the Coffee Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Northside blew past Thomas County Central, posting a 53-22 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Coffee entered their tilt with Lee County on Saturday with 12 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 13. Everything went their way against the Trojans as they made off with a 53-33 win. Coffee has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 games by 20 points or more this season.

Coffee's win came from a few key players Northside will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lexie Bradford, who posted 12 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Paris Riley, who earned ten points and four steals.

Coffee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups.

Coffee's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.4 points. As for Northside, their record is now 11-14.

Things could have been worse for Northside, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-37 loss to Coffee in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Northside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
