After flying high against Lake Forest on Thursday, Mundelein came back down to earth. The Mustangs fell 8-5 to the Lincoln-Way Central Knights on Saturday. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Shea Eaman and Taylor Pyke stepped up to the plate in a big way. Eaman went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs, while Pyke went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that Eaman has launched this season. Emily Courtney was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run.

Mundelein's defeat dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Lincoln-Way Central, the victory (which was their 19th in a row) raised their record to 30-1.

Coincidentally, Mundelein and Lincoln-Way Central will both be playing Fremd the next time they take the field. The Knights will head out to face the Vikings at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
