Baseball Recap: Enterprise Comes Up Short

Enterprise had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 8-14 to make it four. They lost 17-3 to the Carson Senators. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 7-0 to the Senators when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Porter Fischer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Enterprise is 5-1 when Fischer posts two or more runs, but 3-13 otherwise.

As for Carson, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-15. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Carson's side, they got a great performance from Will Raggett as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Raggett has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Noah Hutchison, who went 1-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Cruz Gonzales also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Carson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 6-5 defeat against Truckee on the 14th. Hopefully Enterprise paid attention to the Senators' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Senators at 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
