Basketball Game Preview: West Ashley Wildcats vs. Stall Warriors

West Ashley has gone 9-1 against Stall recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The West Ashley Wildcats will take on the Stall Warriors at 8:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for West Ashley and 12 for Stall.

West Ashley is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 17, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against James Island, falling 71-50.

Despite the loss, West Ashley got top-tier performance from Kendell Mack, who went 11 of 25 en route to 37 points. The dominant performance gave Mack a new career-high in points. Lavell Minus also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Meanwhile, Stall played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 72-42 defeat at the hands of Ashley Ridge. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 198th, while the Swamp Foxes are ranked 43rd).

Stall's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for West Ashley, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.

Everything came up roses for West Ashley against Stall in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured a 78-43 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Ashley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
