New Glarus came out on top against Wisconsin Heights on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Glarner Knights skirted past the Vanguards 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Glarner Knights have posted against the Vanguards since May 16, 2019.

Nolan Julseth made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Julseth was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Ethan Colstad was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season. Landon Stelter was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

New Glarus hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

New Glarus now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Wisconsin Heights, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-3.

Looking ahead, New Glarus will face off against Edgerton at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Wisconsin Heights, they will take on Cambridge at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
