Basketball Game Preview: Eads Eagles vs. Kim/Branson Mustangs

Eads and Kim/Branson are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Eads Eagles will take on the Kim/Branson Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Eads will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Friday, everything went Eads' way against Cheraw as Eads made off with a 49-23 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 26 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Anna Wollert, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Alessandra Paez, who posted six points along with seven boards and four steals.

Eads smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Kim/Branson beat Walsh 43-31 on Friday.

Kim/Branson has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Eads, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.

Eads strolled past Kim/Branson when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 38-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eads since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
