Basketball Recap: Cheylin Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Cheylin had won three straight home games and Landon Schoenberger did his part to make it four on Friday. The Cheylin Cougars breezed by the Triplains/Brewster Titans to the tune of 72-29 thanks in part to Schoenberger, who posted 26 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game.

Another player making a difference was Andrew Wright, who scored 13 points. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played.

Cheylin's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Triplains/Brewster, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Cheylin and Triplains/Brewster could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings. Cheylin (ranked 260th) will meet Weskan (ranked 113th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Triplains/Brewster will square off against Logan/Palco at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th down 307 places (348 vs. 41).
