Softball Recap: Leonardtown Picks Up 12th Consecutive Win

Leonardtown strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against St. Charles as they made off with a 20-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won four matchups by 14 runs or more so far this season.

Claire Radford made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Kendall Wathen was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Moore, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Leonardtown's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average this season. As for St. Charles, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
