Baseball Recap: Rancho Mirage Extends Winning Streak to Six

Rancho Mirage waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Palm Springs Indians. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 12-5 victory two weeks ago.

Zachary Berntsen looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ezra Aparicio was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Marcos Ceja Jr. was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Rancho Mirage's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-11. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Palm Springs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-20 record this season.

Rancho Mirage will venture away from home to face off against Shadow Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rattlers are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Palm Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
