Normangee took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Latexo, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers won by a run and slipped past the Tigers 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Kynleigh Long spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Normangee's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Harris, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Normangee's win bumped their record up to 9-6-1. As for Latexo, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Normangee is set to take on their familiar foe Slocum at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Latexo will face off against rival Oakwood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
