Football Game Recap: Marmaton Valley vs. Southern Coffey County

Southern Coffey County fell to Marmaton Valley 22-68 the last time the two teams met; this time around, they exacted some revenge. Everything came up roses for Southern Coffey County against Marmaton Valley on Friday as the team secured a 50-0 win. Southern Coffey County were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.

Senior Dawson Leimkuhler and senior Kolgan Ohl were among the main playmakers for Southern Coffey County as the former rushed for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns and the latter caught passes for 125 yards and 3 touchdowns. Senior Jett Harvey was in the mix, too, providing Southern Coffey County with 3 touchdowns.

The win got Southern Coffey County back to even at 2-2. Marmaton Valley are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-4.

Next week Southern Coffey County take on Chetopa at 7:00 PM. Chetopa took a loss in their last contest and are no doubt out to reverse Southern Coffey County's good fortune. As for Marmaton Valley, they will face off against Crest. Both teams have had a rocky road up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.
