Baseball Recap: Mountain Brook Triumphs

It was close, but on Friday the Mountain Brook Spartans sidestepped the Warren Central Vikings for a 3-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Mountain Brook's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Warren Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6-1 record this season.

Mountain Brook will welcome Woodlawn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Colonels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.6 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Warren Central, they will venture away from home to face off against Greenville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hornets have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
