Volleyball Recap: Walton Starts Season with Win Against Campbell

Walton took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Campbell Spartans as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Walton walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-21, 25-9.

Leading Walton to victory were Ella Cobb and Janie Myers. Cobb had 18 digs and three assists, while Myers had eight digs and two aces. Cobb is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season.

Walton has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Pope on the 9th. As for Campbell, they are taking a road trip to take on Lassiter at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
