Baseball Game Preview: Hermiston Bulldogs vs. Chiawana Riverhawks

Hermiston hasn't had much luck against Chiawana recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Hermiston will face off against Chiawana at 4:00 p.m.

Hermiston is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Kamiakin on Tuesday. They came up short against the Braves, falling 10-1. The loss was the Bulldogs' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Chiawana came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Suns.

Chiawana's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Hermiston, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.

Hermiston couldn't quite get it done against Chiawana when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can Hermiston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
