Softball Recap: Shades Valley's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Shades Valley came into Thursday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Minor Tigers on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-3 back in March.

Jenna Paxton made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, earning two runs and two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Maria Crider was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kharly DeLaine, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Shades Valley's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Minor, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

Shades Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Minor, they will take on Parker at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thundering Herd have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
