Baseball Recap: Cardinal Newman Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Cardinal Newman's offense. They fell just short of the College Park Falcons by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Cardinal Newman saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jace Wooley, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Wooley's first of the season.

Cardinal Newman's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for College Park, the victory also got them back to even at 3-3.

Coming up, Cardinal Newman will face off against Elk Grove at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cardinal Newman's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Elk Grove's hitters will have their work cut out for them. We've got a battle between Falcons coming up.
