Baseball Game Preview: Giddings Buffaloes vs. Stafford Spartans

For the second straight game, Giddings will face off against Stafford. The Buffaloes will challenge the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Giddings is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Stafford, sneaking past 4-3.

For Stafford's part, Dana Williams was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 5.2 innings pitched. Williams has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Maxwell Frels was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. He has become a key player for Stafford: the team is 9-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-8 otherwise.
