Baseball Recap: Pender Comes Up Short

The Pender Patriots lost 14-1 to the South Lenoir Blue Devils on Monday. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pender saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean Cummings, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Pender's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for South Lenoir, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2.

Looking ahead, Pender will be playing at home against Hobbton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Lenoir will be paying especially close attention to the Patriots' contest: after the Patriots face off against the Wildcats, they'll take on South Lenoir again at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
