Baseball Recap: New Kent Trojans vs. York Falcons
New Kent won the last time they faced York and things went their way on Friday too. New Kent put the hurt on York with a sharp 9-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.
New Kent got a great performance from Jonah Sorrell as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
On the hitting side, Michael Hetzel and Andrew Staskiel did most of the damage at the plate: Hetzel got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four RBI and one double, while Staskiel scored a run while going 2-for-2. Those four RBI gave Hetzel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Hochman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
