Basketball Recap: New Creation Christian Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Peachtree Academy last Tuesday, New Creation Christian Academy came back down to earth. The New Creation Christian Academy Crusaders were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 59-58 to the Victory Baptist Warrior.

Victory Baptist's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eric Banks Jr led the charge by putting up 12 points and seven rebounds. Dontaye Bell was another key player, posting ten points along with six boards and three steals.

New Creation Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Victory Baptist, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, New Creation Christian Academy and Peachtree Academy will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. One thing working in New Creation Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games. As for Victory Baptist, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Peoples Baptist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Peoples Baptist Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Victory Baptist surely won't give up without a fight.
