Gammell made his presence known in Salem Hills' 4-3 win
Dagen Gammell turned in his biggest game of the season on Monday, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his fifth in a row with less than two walks allowed. This season, Gammell has been strong no matter where he plays. On the mound, he has an ERA of 1.17 over 30 innings pitched. Meanwhile, at bat he has slashed 0.467/0.535/0.833 with 29 RBI.
Gammell's strong effort led Salem Hills over Orem and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Salem Hills is 8-1 against Orem going back to March of 2016, a lead they'll look to extend.
